    GR02419
    Item No. GR02419

DISK- ID, DUG, 1914 small pattern, marked: ...(A) "Ers. Batl/ Pi. Regt 20" w/individual number. Just as dug w/heavy patina, should clean up OK. FAIR-GOOD. Listed in the troop register (German text, Reichsarchives, Pottsdam, no Division listing). Dug in Champagne Sector{9}; ...(B)SAME, but stamped "Ers.Batl./P.B. 20" w/number{1}; ...(C) SAME, marked "Pion. Batl 20./ 4. C.(or K.)" w/number{7}; ...(D) Heavy verdigis, same unit, hard to read. These are perfect to display w/a collection, as each tag represented a man's life and history of military service. When the M1915 dog tag came out, I believe they discarded these "en masse" in one spot, so these did not come from an unidentified grave. They are examaple sof the samll 1914 tag. CHOICE

    GR02656
    Item No. GR02656

TAGS- DOG: 1/2 of tag, some bottoms and some tops, RELICS, all dug in Champagne area. These are relic, but they are in legible condition. At time of printing we are still examining them for units, and so far we have regt's RJR/RIR34{4}, REJR/JR235{1}, Name only{1}. These tags are great for WWI displays to show the grim reality of war and why there were so many "MISSING" soldiers, as graves were lost and destroyed as the war passed over them (if they were lucky enough to be buried), and the tags do not always give enough info when cut or broken in half, especially the ones that were not double marked on upper and lower half. So far, all units I have had time to research WERE at Champagne at some time, where they suffered heavy casualties. CHOICE for $.
