BUTTONS - RIMMED CROWN in WHITE or BRASS, pocket and tunic size. White brass (silver) was used on any tunic that takes silver hardware (pioneer, telegrapher, Luftschiffer, etc. & some a few infantry regiments if they wore silver on their spiked helmet) and BRASS for all infantry tunics. Once the war started, brass was dropped from use and saved for shell casings(Sept 1915 regs). ALL hardware was then painted steel, but they also painted the brass buttons if used, so mixed painted hardware will be found on original tunics. Depots used up what they had in stock. We can leave them WHITE to paint whatever color you wish. Our painted buttons are done in M1910 gray. Priced each, these are perfect copies - the brass buttons will look original after time and use
