    GB11011
    Item No. GB11011

TIN - "PRINCESS MARY", 1914 CHRISTMAS GIFT TO THE TROOPS. WHAT IS NEAT ABOUT THIS ONE IS THAT IT IS ID'D TO THE BRITISH SOLDIER THAT RECEIVED IT ON CHRISTMAS DAY, 1914 ALONG WITH HIS STANDARD RATIONS. IN THE BOX NOW ARE EMPTY CHOCOLATE & CIGARETTE PACKS (LIKE NEW - I DO NOT KNOW IF THEY REPRODUCE IT), 4 PHOTOS OF THE ROYAL FAMILY, COLOR CHRISTMAS CARD, AND A NEWSPAPER WRITE-UP OF THE SOLDIER, WHO WAS IN THE SIXTH CHESHIRE REGIMENT (73 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME OF THE CLIPPING). HAVE NEVER HAD ONE ID'D TO THE SOLDIER WHO RECEIVED IT. I BELIEVE THE WRITE-UP IS ABOUT THE TIN ONLY (HE SAID IT WAS ONCE FILLED WITH "CIGARETTES, PIPE AND TOBACCO"), BUT IT NOW HAS THE ABOVE CONTENTS. HE STATES IT WAS HIS MOST CHERISHED POSSESSION FROM WWI.

    $249.50
