KIT- CLEANING, ENFIELD RIFLE CLEANING KITS: One "pull-through" (double ended with mesh wire bore scraper in center) and one brass oiler. All you need for the Enfield Rifle. The pull-throughs (along with other rifle cleaning items) were not supplied to soldiers until they came back from the front line on R & R.(same as the French & German soldiers). The oiler was carried in the butt of the rifle to maintain the rifle in basic shooting condition in the front lines, but they did not normally clean the bore in the front lines (unlike the US soldiers) unless the SGT of the unit had the means to do it.
