SHELL - TRENCH ART 75MM, 1916 dated, all line sawtooth engraved background wsith large oval panel on front depicting a woman sitting on a bed reading a letter (from her soldier) with the French soldier looking in on her at the top right of the panel (he is in a helmet looking over a branch), with "MARCELLE" in panel at bottom (probably the soldier's name). Scenes with "figures" of people are very rare as they are hard to do and usually took a professional engraver to accomplish it.
