PAINTED GREEN, NO DOUBT PRE-WWI AS IT IS SO HEAVY DUTY. THE AUSTRIANS WERE THE ONLY ONES I KNOW OF THAT USED THESE SHORTER BOXES.

I TUMBLED THEM IN WALNUT HULLS TO TAKE OF THE DIRT/GREASE AND THEY CAME OUT FAIRLY NICE - REST OF CLEANING CAN BE DONE WITH A BRILLO PAD OR OIL AND STEEL WOOL. THEY ARE ALL FUNCTIONAL. ("KROLL" BRAND OIL W/STEEL WOOL IS THE BEST TO USE). THESE ARE NOT EASY CLIPS TO FIND. CAN SELL A HUNDRED FOR $120.00 BUT STOCK IS GETTING LOW.
